It is not that there is only one God, it is that there is only God. God means that there is only one thing that is all there is. Therefore, it is what we are, and it is what the universe is. The identity that we have in common could be called consciousness or self or I am. God is this identity that is our fundamental identity. This identity is also the identity of the rocks and the stars. It is the identity of all that is. In fact, this is the only identity. There is at the root of us, only this one identity. We do not exist. Only God exists.
